Pre-Convention Workshop 3

Leadership Development Effectiveness

Organisations often fail in their efforts to develop effective leadership because they focus too much time assessing individual leadership styles and then cultivating personal development in an isolated and fragmented environment. Les Pickett believes that to be effective, an organisation needs to develop an integrated strategic framework that links corporate objectives with people management, retention and development strategies.

This program will explore key elements and successful strategies that make your leadership development program work and be successful, facilitating a smooth transition to a high-performing organisation. It will also identify common causes of executive derailment – why so many of these programs fail.

This workshop will include group discussions, case studies and experiential exercises, and will include:

  • An understanding of the emerging role of executive leadership, individual and organisational competencies in driving a high performance organisation
  • Practical and proven models for leadership effectiveness
  • Strategies and practical approaches for the identification, development and retention of future leaders
  • An integrated framework - from developing a leadership program, to gaining buy-in from employees and executive management, to implementing integrated action plans and an individual development programs for future success.

Les Pickett will assist you in identifying barriers to improved organisational performance so that you can align your corporate objectives, business strategy and human capital initiatives and recognise critical elements in the development of future leaders and the optimisation of human capital.
