Aim High! A New Approach for Managers

One of the consistent themes in Peter Drucker’s work in “The Effective Executive” is related to the management of time. Drucker argues that improving the effectiveness of all managers begins by finding out where time goes and then taking steps to eliminate those tasks that waste their time and the time of others. Technology can be a key factor in improving managers’ effectiveness.

Remesys and MBF will provide an illustrative case study of how technology has assisted MBF to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its managers. The presentation will cover the current practice of salary reviews, the drivers for change, and the benefits to the organisation. The presentation will also include a demonstration of the solution in action.

 

Co-Presenter: Lara Kirschner

Lara Kirschner is a Director of Remesys, a Remuneration and Benefits Consultancy. Lara has 15 years experience working in the field of Human Resources, and more specifically Remuneration and Benefits. Prior to establishing Remesys in 2001, Lara held Human Resources roles at BT Australasia, Choice Connections, Hutchison Telecommunications, and Morgan and Banks.

Since establishing the Company and specialising in Remuneration and Benefits, Lara has consulted for Allens Arthur Robinson, MLC, National Australia Bank, SAITeys McMahon, Sinclair Knight Merz, and Westpac. Most recently, Lara held the role of Head of Compensation and Benefits at Citigroup.

Lara has completed an MA (Psychology) and is a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute and the Australian Institute of Management.

Kelly McNamara is an HR Consultant at MBF Australia, and has been in the role since April 2002, during a time of significant organisational change. Kelly’s responsibilities have included developing an HR systems strategy and implementing key priorities, implementing a performance based remuneration approach and framework, and educating and supporting managers about the annual remuneration framework and process. Kelly previously worked with eVenture (venture capital company) developing and implementing HR systems.
